Ptv Fee Information Ministry issued notice

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued a notice to the Information Ministry asking it to explain why the levy of PTV fee in electricity bills could not be stayed. The judge observed that it seemed that there was no basis in law for the recovery of the fee from electricity consumers. The judge was hearing a petition by Advocate Sheraz Zaka. The petitioner submitted that billions of rupees were collected through electricity bills. He said the recovery mechanism was inappropriate.
