Kevin Spacey awarded honorary knighthood by Prince Charles

But you can't call him 'Sir'

Two-time Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey has been awarded an honorary knighthood by His Royal Highness Prince Charles.

The title of Knight Commander, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, was conferred upon the House of Cards actor for his services to theatre, arts and international culture at Clarence House, London on Thursday.

Spacey can now officially place the letters KBE behind his name but he won't be allowed to call himself  'Sir Kevin' as he is a recipient outside the Commonwealth, reports Dailymail.

On the work front, Spacey is gearing up for the release of his latest film Nine Lives. He is also set to return with Netflix series House of Cards, slated for release in February.
