Targeted: CTD employee shot dead outside bank in DI Khan

D I KHAN: DI khan. Unidentified persons shot dead a counter-terrorism department employee, Tariq Jamshed, in DI Khan city on Wednesday. This was confirmed by an official at Cantt police station in DI Khan.

The incident occurred when Jamshed stopped to withdraw cash from a bank. Two people on motorbike went to him near Fawar Chowk and shot him, killing him on the spot.

In the attack, security guard of the bank, Muhammad Ramazan, was also injured. He was shifted to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital DI Khan.

However, the culprits managed to escape the site.

Soon after the incident, DI Khan DPO Yasir Afridi, along with other police officials, rushed to the site and started investigation into the incident.

Afridi told the media they suspected a banned outfit to be behind the attack. “Jamshed had threats to his life.” However, he added, police will make all-out efforts to arrest the culprits.

The 38-year-old Jamshed belonged to Kachi Peyanda Khan village of DI Khan. He had arrested many terrorists.
