Khan had moved an application before ATC judge Kausar Sultana, seeking permission to go to Dubai for two weeks. When the application was taken up by the court, Khan's attorney had argued that two of the applicant's sons were studying in Dubai and he is financing their education and living expenditures. The lawyer also argued that Khan's visa was nearing expiry.
The MQM leader is accused of harbouring criminals and instigating terrorism. He was implicated in the case after having been arrested, along with some convicted and absconding suspects, during the pre-dawn March 11 raid at the party's headquarters, Nine Zero.
Apart from this, the same court has approved the appeal of Nine Zero security incharge Minhaj Qazi to provide him a class B facility in jail, which was challenged by the Ranger's law officer.
The law officer failed to convince the court of the reasoning behind his challenging of the appeal.
