There will be an integrated campaign launched on war footing to save the cotton crop

LAHORE: The Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed, while taking notice of the white fly attack on cotton crop, has directed the relevant staff of the agriculture department to guide farmers in saving their crops. He instructed the staff to arrange permanent camps and design a comprehensive strategic campaign to rescue the crop from white flies and other worms and larvae. “Cotton is an extremely important crop for agricultural growth and we cannot afford its loss this year,” said Dr Javed, adding that the national GDP sustained quite a significant loss last year due to the damaged crop. He said he would himself visit those areas and address the farmers’ issues. “No negligence will be tolerated in this regard. There will be an integrated campaign launched on war footing to save the cotton crop.”
