The demand for resources was forwarded by the Islamabad police, to the Ministry of Interior, which was then formally approved by the Ministry of Finance for allocation, an official said.
He informed that in addition to the recently established police stations in Shams Colony, Noon and Karachi Company; a new police station in Faizabad had also been proposed, which would increase the overall number of police stations in the capital to 23.
The Ministry of Interior has issued its approval for a new police station, to the district administration of Islamabad, for the purpose of better management, to enable them to combat crime more effectively and to resolve public complaints instantaneously.
The jurisdiction of the existing Margalla police station has been divided after establishing the Karachi Company police station.
The jurisdiction of H-11, H-12, H-13 and I-12 now falls under the Shams Colony police station, and is shared with the Sabzi Mandi Police Station.
The newly proposed Faizabad police station will cover sectors H-8 and I-8, which fall within the limits of the Industrial Area Police Station.
