Fruit and vegetable exhibition: Pakistan to participate in world’s largest expo

Around 2,300 companies from 135 countries to participate.

KARACHI: Pakistan will be represented by 15 companies and 50 officials at Fruit Logistica, the world’s biggest fruit and vegetable exhibition, which will be held from February 9 to 11 in Berlin.

Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association former chairman Waheed Ahmad told The Express Tribune that around 2,300 companies representing 135 countries will be participating in the exhibition. Latest machinery, agricultural inputs and packing and processing technology will be on display, Ahmad  added.

Ahmad also said that apart from big companies, small and medium sized firms will also be participating, making the exhibition one-stop solution for value addition.

He said that Pakistani participants enjoy the support of Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company, the Trade Development Authority and USAID.

Last year, seven companies participated in the exhibition and received export orders worth 1.5 million euros, added Ahmad.
