Army chief sends bouquet, well wishes to ailing Edhi
General Raheel Sharif has prayed for a healthy and peaceful life of the philanthropist, says Faisal Edhi
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and his wife have sent a bouquet and a card to philanthropist and chairman of Edhi Foundation Abdul Sattar Edhi.
The army chief prayed for a healthy and peaceful life of Edhi, said his son Faisal Edhi.
The gesture comes a day after Edhi, who has been diagnosed with kidney failure, turned down former president Asif Ali Zardari’s offer to be flown abroad for medical treatment.
The richest poor man
Edhi, however, declined the offer, indicating that he preferred to receive treatment in Pakistan.
“I will not leave Pakistan and go anywhere for treatment,” Kazmi quoted Edhi as saying.

In the past, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and real estate tycoon Malik Riaz have also offered to help Edhi in his treatment but he turned them down as well.
Edhi was diagnosed with kidney failure in June 2013 and was told by doctors he would have to be on dialysis for the rest of his life.
