He will live forever in the hearts and souls of millions all over the world
LAHORE: Floating like a butterfly, stinging like a bee, that was the great Muhammad Ali, a name known to every household all over the globe. The great man left this world with a legacy of love and affection, of equality and humanity, and of helping the suffering humanity irrespective of religion, nationality or colour. He will live forever in the hearts and souls of millions all over the world.
Ali’s funeral took place in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, where thousands gathered to pay their respect and tributes to the boxing legend and a great human being. It was sad to see that on his demise, neither our prime minister nor the president bothered to offer a few words of condolences or say a few words in recognition of his services to humanity.
Almost all world leaders, serving or retired, issued condolence messages, praying for the departed soul and praising the greatness of the man who not only ruled the ring but the hearts and souls of millions all over the world. Only Imran Khan had the courtesy to tweet a few words dedicated for Ali.
Perhaps, Imran Khan could have also travelled to Louisville, Kentucky to attend the funeral, but no one from our political class was there to pay their respects to Ali. Meanwhile, the Turkish president, along with many prominent personalities from around the world, attended the memorial service.
