LAHORE: Lahore High Court issued notices on Friday to the DCO, the Lahore Development Authority, the Environment Protection Department and a private school in Gulberg on a petition accusing the school of encroaching on residential area. Advocate Sheraz Zaka, counsel for the petitioner who lives in the neighbourhood, also accused the school management of violating environmental laws and LDA bylaws and regulations.

He said that the school had started commercial activities in the area without seeking approval from the LDA and the Environment Protection Department. He said the principal’s house was also being converted into a campus. The lawyer said the school management had blocked the road causing problems for the locals. He said neighbours suffered from noise pollution which he blamed on the school. Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh sought a reply from the respondent in three weeks. He also issued notice to the school management.
