Law and order: ‘Robber’ killed in shootout
The spokesman said the deceased was wanted by Khurarianwala police for nine robbery cases
FAISALABAD:
A robber was killed in a shootout late on Thursday, police said on Friday. A police spokesman told newsmen that a Makkoana police team headed by Inspector Zafar Iqbal was on routine patrol when they spotted a motorbike carrying three people near Kal Garh Bridge around 2:15 am. He said the men opened fire at the police team where they were asked to stop for a search. He said one of the suspects was hit when the policemen returned fire. The man fell off the motorbike while his accomplices fled. The spokesman said the deceased was identified as Sikandar, son of Muhammad Yaqoob.
He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The spokesman said the deceased was wanted by Khurarianwala police for nine robbery cases.
