Proclaimed offender arrested after six years

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested a suspect who was declared a proclaimed offender six years ago.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the police arrested Shakeel Ahmed, who had been booked by Shalimar police in 2010 for theft.

During the initial investigation, the suspect confessed to burgling a house in E-11/4.

Ahmed, who hails from Dargai in Malakand, is also a court absconder in another fraud case registered against him in 2010 at Shalimar police station. Further investigation into the case is under way.

SP (Investigation) Capt (retd) Muhammad Ilyas has lauded the performance of SIU team.
