Shaukat Afzal added it is considered as unscheduled load-shedding

PESHAWAR: The officials of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company asked the public to remove illegal electricity connections so that they get a steady power supply in Ramazan.

This was mentioned in a handout issued on Thursday. It read consuming electricity through illegal connections hindered the supply of electricity to the consumers who pay their bills on time.

It added people in few areas of the province have installed direct hooks, causing excessive power breakdowns as it severely overloaded the power distribution system.

PESCO Spokesperson Shaukat Afzal was quoted in the handout as saying the frequent tripping occurred due to overloading. He added it is considered as unscheduled load-shedding, which is not like the same.

“Blockage of roads and attack on PESCO installations is not the solution but removal of illegal connections can cut down the duration of electricity breakdown.”
