Though looking physically frail, Ali can be seen in the best of spirits. He died less than two weeks later at the age of 74 on 3 June of septic shock due to unspecified natural causes his family confirmed.

In a statement, his family said they "would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support".

His funeral will be held on Friday followed by a public memorial. It is understood Ali himself helped plan the public service.
