SHABQADAR: A khasadar force official and a local were killed by unidentified people in Lower Mohmand Agency on Tuesday night. On the other hand, political administration officials demolished seven houses of suspected militants in Ghallanai, Upper Mohmand Agency on Wedneday.

An official of the political administration confirmed the killing of khasadar official, Subedar Naveed Khan, and a local, Jamal Shah, in Michni area of Lower Mohmand Agency.

The official told The Express Tribune Naveed was taken from a shop in Kado Kor while Shah was picked up from his house in Bhai Kor. They both were killed.

Security forces started searching the area to arrest the suspects.

Michni area has remained a hideout of militants in the past. It was later declared clear, but terrorist activities have resurfaced in recent times, forcing influential people to move out of the area in fear of attacks.

Houses demolished

In Haleemzai, Ghallanai, Upper Mohmand, the administration officials and tribespeople demolished seven houses of suspected militants on the second consecutive day.

This was done under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.

Last week it was decided at a jirga that houses of suspected militants and their facilitators will be demolished if any anti-state activity takes place in the area.
