It seems Hillary Clinton, who just won the Democratic Party nomination for US president, may have a penchant for violence.

According to a new tell-all book, set to be published by  former Secret Service officer, Hillary Clinton left Bill Clinton the then US president with a black eye during a loud fight in 1995.

Hailing a milestone, Clinton declares victory in Democratic race

In the first chapter of the book, Crisis of Character, which can be read on an Amazon.com preview, Gary Byrne, who is now retired, claims an “especially big argument” between the Clintons “ended with a crash”, and a vase was found shattered on the floor. The following day President Clinton emerged with “a shiner, a real, live, put-a-steak-on-it black eye”, according to the book.

When asked what it was, Clinton’s secretary told Byrne it was an allergic reaction to coffee.

In his book, the US Secret Service agent who first raised concerns about Monica Lewinsky’s access to the White House claims Hillary Clinton “lacks the integrity and temperament” to serve as president.

Byrne, who also claims to have “personally observed” Bill Clinton’s infidelities, has criticised Clinton’s “appalling leadership style”, describing her as “volcanic, impulsive, enabled by sycophants, and disdainful of the rules set for everyone else.”

The book, which is due to be released on June 28, a month before Clinton is likely to be named the Democratic presidential candidate.

Further, the book also alleges Clinton showed “a disdain for the little people”.

Byrne claims to have no “political agenda”, but says he is “revealing the unvarnished true story of the Clintons, the real damage they inflicted via the presidency and… the real damage they again pose”.

“What I saw in the 1990s sickened me”, he writes.

Clinton raps Trump as peddler of 'lies' and division

“Out of a sense of loyalty to our First Family I even secretly disposed of sordid physical evidence that might later have been used to convict the president. The blue dress wasn’t the only evidence of his misdeeds," he adds.

However, Byrne is not the only one who doubts Clinton’s ability to be president, recently republican candidate Donald Trump has also been brazenly voicing his distaste.

In a recent tweet he said: “Hillary Clinton is unfit to be president. She has bad judgement, poor leadership skills and a very bad and destructive track record. Change!”

Hillary Clinton declared herself the Democratic Party nominee for US president on Tuesday, embracing her role in history as the first woman to lead a major party in a race for the White House.

The former first lady, senator and US secretary of state celebrated her victory in the nominating race over rival Bernie Sanders at a raucous event with supporters in Brooklyn, New York, where Clinton placed her achievement in the context of the long history of the women’s rights movement.
