KARACHI: Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won bronze in the Javelin Throw event of the Asian Junior Athletics Championship that began in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Nadeem finished behind India’s Niraj Chopra, who covered 77.60m, while Japan’s Junya Sado won gold with his 77.97m throw.

The 19-year old previously recorded 78.33m during his debut at the South Asian Games in India. The score helped him climb up to fourth place in the IAAF under-20 world rankings.

The Athletics Federation of Pakistan has decided to send Nadeem to Poland for the World Junior Athletics to be held from June 19-26.
