Poor security: Two police officers suspended

The police chief also sought explanation from Sub-Divisional Police Officer

RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja on Tuesday suspended two police officers for making poor security arrangements for a Ramazan Sasta Bazaar set up by the district government at Chur Chowk.

The police chief also sought explanation from Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Cantonment police besides directing him to improve the security arrangements in the bazaar in his jurisdiction.

According to details, the RPO paid a surprise visit to Ramazan Sasta Bazaar located at Chur Chowk on Peshawar Road to review the security arrangements.

During the visit, the RPO found the arrangements unsatisfactory and
placed Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) Shamshad and Umar Farooq under suspension.

The RPO also sought explanation from Syed Iqbal Kazmi, the SDPO of Cantt Circle and also directed him to tighten security of Ramazan Bazaars, mosques, imambargahs and places of worship during the holy month.
