Dengue Surveillance: Ensure hygiene at graveyards, mosques

Rafique said there would be an increase in number of people visiting mosques and graveyards during the holy month

LAHORE: Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique has directed officers of the Auqaf and the Local Government departments to pay special attention to cleanliness and dengue surveillance at mosques and graveyards during the holy month of Ramazan. Speaking at a meeting of the cabinet committee on dengue on Monday, Rafique said there would be a significant increase in number of people visiting mosques and graveyards during the holy month. He said it was the responsibility of the government to take care of their health. Earlier, Dengue Control Additional Director general Fayyaz Butt presented a report on overall dengue situation in the province and dengue surveillance activities of the government. Salman Rafique asked the departments concerned to take effective dengue control measures in sensitive district like Rawalpindi.
