At least two brothers were gunned down in Panjpir, Swabi on Saturday.

A police official told The Express Tribune Naeem Gul and his brother, Zareen Gul, opened fire on Juma Gul and Sabir Shah following a disagreement.

“Gulzar, Juma’s son, told the police the accused managed to escape the site after committing the crime,” he said. “A few hours after the incident, Naeem and Zareen were arrested during a raid ordered by Swabi SHO Gulzar Khan.”

According to the official, a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way. Separately, a body was found in Dhok, Swabi. The deceased has been identified Bacha Sultan who drowned while crossing Indus River in Swabi last week.

“Sultan was crossing a road near the river when he accidentally slipped and fell into the water,” an official said.

According to the officials, locals rushed to the spot and tried to rescue him. “However, Sultan drowned and his body could not be found,” he said.
