ISLAMABAD: Around 15 police chiefs from across the country have called for uniformity in pay packages, enhancement in remuneration, and standardisation of practical work. During a meeting of the National Police Management (NPB) Board at the National Police Bureau in Islamabad, they also demanded deployment on UN missions, placement of police officers in foreign missions to curb transnational crime, issuance of gallantry awards, audit of training institutes, improvement in service delivery, sharing of best practices, and remedial measures for ‘thana culture’. NPB Director-General Iqbal Mehmood said the police faced severe challenges, but had shown resilience to fight crime and terrorism. The meeting was chaired by Inspector General (IG) of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police Nasir Khan Durrani, the senior most police officer in the Police Service of Pakistan.
