At least five people were killed and 30 others injured following storm and heavy downpour in Islamabad and Peshawar on Wednesday.

According to Express News, storm and intense rain began during the evening.

In Peshawar, roofs collapsed due to the intensity of the storm, killing at least a man while injuring scores others.

In Islamabad, while injuries and casualties were reported, a legion of signboards also collapsed on roads.

Rawalpindi faced a similar situation; and as a result, a number of flight operations at the Benazir International Airport were suspended.

The MET department has predicted more rains in the coming days.
