A man pushed his wife into a canal while taking a selfie with her in the Indian city of Meerut, police said on Tuesday.
According to a police spokesperson, the 24-year-old victim, Ayesha, was thrown into the Ganga canal by her husband over dowry issues, reported NDTV.
The couple had married one-and-a-half-years ago.
After the incident, husband Aftab reported to the police, saying robbers pushed his wife into the waterway during a mugging bid.
