ISLAMABAD: The bridge linking Bhara Kahu to Bari Imam is in dilapidated condition due to lukewarm attitude of the authorities concerned.

The bridge is in dangerous state as the safety pillars on both sides of it have broken, large cracks can be witnessed, which can result in a mishap anytime.

However, despite many complaints, the authorities concerned have yet to take any action to repair it, the residents of the locality said.

A resident, Muhammad Faheem told the APP there were fears that the bridge could collapse any moment.

“I am aware that it is risky to cross but I am using it because it is the shortest and most hassle-free route to reach Islamabad,” said Adnan, a taxi driver.

However, when contacted, a CDA official said that the authority was well aware of the dilapidated condition of the bridge and expressed optimism that soon people of the area would hear good news.
