PESHAWAR:

Police successfully solved the murder case of former tehsildar Anwar Zeb who was killed on Dalazak Road in the Paharipura area.

Addressing a press conference, SP City Wasim Khalil and ASP Faqirabad said the mastermind of the murder was Abdur Rehman, an employee of the revenue department. Four others were also arrested and the gun used in the murder was confiscated from their possession.

“The deceased, Anwar Zeb, attempted to kill Rehman in 2007, but the matter was later settled. Some time ago, Anwar Zeb was retired from service on charges of illegal recruitment and proof against the official was provided by Abdur Rehman,” said SP Khalil. In turn, the deceased collected proof against Abdur Rehman and provided to the anti-corruption authorities.

Ultimately, the accused decided to murder Anwar Zeb and did so with the help of his son, nephew and other friends who killed the victim on Dalazak Road.
