Fake degree: Prosecutor’s membership revoked
The IBA president also said that Iftikhar Ahmed Bhatti was currently working as a prosecutor
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad District Bar Association (IDBA) has cancelled the membership of a prosecutor for holding “fake degree”. The lawyers body has also banned entry of Iftikhar Ahmed Bhatti, a former federal counsel, into courts. Islamabad District Bar Association president Mohammad Tayyab told APP that the Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council had already decided to take action against Bhatti and now DBAI would take stern action against him if he was found within the premises of the courts. He said associations have started a far-reaching drive against fake degree holders, corruption and taut mafia within the premises of courts and this was part of this campaign, he added. The IBA president also said that Iftikhar Ahmed Bhatti was currently working as a prosecutor whereas he also remained federal counsel in 2007.
