Pakistan Cricket Board considering re-establishing post of director for international and domestic cricket operations

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering re-establishing the post of director for international and domestic cricket operations, according to ESPNCricinfo.

Former chief selectors Aamir Sohail, Haroon Rasheed and Iqbal Qasim are in the reckoning for the post which was abolished last year in order to cut down the number of employees in the cricket board.

In 2015, Qasim was serving as the director of domestic cricket, whereas former Test batsman Zakir Khan was working as the director international cricket.

However, both experienced campaigners were sent home after the cricket governing body decided to reduce the number of employees from 600 to 530 in order cut down its expenses.

In another move to reshuffle the personnel at various management levels, the PCB has decided to give Mudassar Nazar the high profile post of academies, who will also head the five-member cricket committee which will include three other cricket Nadeem Khan, Qasim and former women’s captain Urooj Mumtaz.

The move is supposedly the continuation of the cricket board’s policy to revamp the structure of the board, which started after the Men in Green showed poor performances in the Asia Cup T20 and ICC World T20, which led to the sacking of selection committee along with former coach Waqar Younis.
