The pilot, Tufail, was flying the aircraft in the area. He was accompanied by Qazi Asfandyar, who works in a private telecom company. The incident occurred when the glider touched a tree and subsequently crashed. The Mardan police was told Asfandyar and Tufail got injured. They were rushed to Gunjai Hospital in Takht Bhai where their treatment was under way till this report was filed.
However, half of the aircraft was damaged. Police started an enquiry to find the cause of the crash.
Both men on board were going to distribute pamphlets of the telecommunication company.
On March 25 in Swabi, a training aircraft of Pakistan Air Force crashed due to technical fault. However, the pilots on board were rescued.
In another city
In March, a charter plane with 18 people on board crash-landed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
Two people were reportedly injured in the incident.
Reports suggested the plane had to make an emergency landing as soon as it took off.
Rescue teams and Civil Aviation officials arrived at the scene and the runway was closed.
