Towards Peace: Jirga resolves old enmity

The elders of Shergarh convened a jirga and heard grievances of both parties

SHERGARH:  

A dispute that had resulted in many people being injured was reportedly resolved by a jirga held in Ittehad Colony in Shergarh, Mardan on Saturday. Haji Abdul Rehman’s group had an old rivalry with Haji Saadullah Khan’s group. The elders of Shergarh convened a jirga and heard grievances of both parties. The clashes that originated from a series of arguments were resolved after mutual consent. Both sides agreed to pay a small amount of fine and vowed to avoid armed clashes and maintain peace and unity in the region. Haji Abdul Nabi Mohmand, Haji Rab Nawaz Khan Mohmand, Haji Zolan Khan, Haji Mutabir Khan, former MNA Maulana Qasim and others were present at the meeting.
