Zarb-e-Azb: Army chief lauds nation’s support
Gen Raheel particularly appreciated the close coordination between the army, navy and air force
LAHORE:
Army chief General Raheel Sharif has acknowledged the support of the entire nation in achieving successes during the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
“Together, we will uproot this menace [of terrorism] and overcome all challenges facing Pakistan,” he said on Friday while addressing students at the Naval War College Lahore.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he said with firsthand war experience, operational employment and state of combat readiness, Pakistan’s armed forces were fully capable of and prepared to respond to all threats.
Gen Raheel particularly appreciated the close coordination between the army, navy and air force.
Talking about the navy’s history of valour and sacrifices, the army chief said: “As a fully vibrant and formidable force, Pakistan Navy has always come up to the expectations of the nation in defending the maritime frontiers of Pakistan.”
He also addressed students on the prevailing geostrategic environment, security challenges and opportunities for Pakistan.
