
“This standardisation will also encourage growers to work hard on their fruit crops and improve quality. It will hurt you (exporters and growers), and eventually Pakistan will not succeed in entering lucrative markets,” he said at a seminar titled ‘Awareness of Mango Exporters’, organised by Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchant Association (PFVA) in collaboration with USAID.
The minister urged the exporters to support growers, especially small farmers, who are facing severe hardships due to a steep rise in cost of production.
Without specifying incentives, he said the federal government is also going to provide maximum relief to the agricultural sector to reduce the cost of production.
