LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Thursday stayed recovery of Rs42.5 million from the Punjab University. The court also sought a reply from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on a petition moved by the university challenging the demand. A counsel for the varsity told the court that the FBR had sent a notice for payment of the tax. He said that the tax could not be imposed on the university’s services. He requested the court to stay the recovery notice and declare it illegal.
