The PC-I prepared by the Sindh Works and Services Department was approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and the Executive Committee of National Economic Development (Ecnec).

A consultant for the project has also been selected and the work is likely to begin soon, according to officials.
They said the project will be completed with the assistance of China at an estimated cost of Rs3,037.4 million. “China would finance Rs1,780.535 million for the project while the remaining amount of Rs1,256.9 million would be contributed by the Sindh government.
“The government would invite international competitive bidding within the next few days, and once the contract is awarded, the project would take a period of two years to complete,” they added.

This project, once completed, would ensure better communication facilities to a population of over 5 million of different areas of Sanghar and Shaheedabad districts.
