Measles outbreak discussed at moot
Participants believed the deaths could easily be prevented
PESHAWAR:
The outbreak of measles and subsequent deaths of children due to the disease during the last few months was discussed at a meeting of Pakistan Paediatric Association (PPA). This was stated in a handout issued on Wednesday.
According to document, a series of concerns were raised at the meeting and the provincial government was asked to take notice of the issue due to which thousands of children were suffering from the disease and dozens of deaths were taking place. Participants believed the deaths could easily be prevented. PPA, said the government must take appropriate preventive measures and provide emergency cover before planning mass vaccination in the districts of K-P.
