NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Ileana D’Cruz, who is all set to share screen space with superstar Akshay Kumar in the upcoming film Rustom, said she is quite proud of being a part of Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial project.

“The film we have done is fictional ... there is a lot of fiction involved. Rustom is a very intense movie. It’s vintage no doubt,” she said in an interview, adding, “I hope people walk into the theatres and get absorbed with the story. I am quite proud of [doing] this movie.”

Talking about how so many biopics and period dramas are being made in the Hindi film industry of late, Ileana, who was last seen on screen in the 2014 film Happy Ending, feels it’s not a trend but a coincidence.

“I think it is maybe a coincidence because I know there are so many films that actually have been in the making for a while or have been talked about for a while ... There are so many coincidences that all these biopics are releasing on the same time,” said the Barfi! star. The actress says she hopes it goes well.

Rustom is set to hit screens on August 12.
