FAISALABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s politics is a sham compared to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s, State Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali said at the inauguration of an electricity provision project on Sunday. “We actually serve the masses and ensure basic amenities to all citizens.”

The electricity provision project was inaugurated in Street 10, Zulfiqar Colony, City Council 79. The minister said there were anti-state elements hatching conspiracies and wasting people’s time with their useless drivel.

“There are several rifts within the PTI itself…Imran Khan, the PTI chief, is not in a position to resolve differences within his party…the PML-N, on the other hand, is united under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.”

He said that the PML-N had honoured and fulfilled all promises made to the people during its election campaigns.

“Mega projects have been launched to end the energy crisis and we have managed to plug the electricity and gas shortfall to a large extent.”

He said the government was focused on initiating uplift projects in rural areas. “There is a dire need to promote unity among all ranks and segments of the society so that we can materialise the dream of a progressive and prosperous Pakistan,” he said. The minister said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would help change the destiny of the country and would usher in an age of prosperity in the region.

“When the PML-N had launched the motorway project, scores of naysayers had slammed it. Over time, the motorway ended up playing a pivotal role in the development of the country.”

MPA Mian Tahir Jameel said the construction of roads, streets and public parks in the area were underway. “Several other major development projects to provide basic amenities will be completed in the next fiscal year.”

City Council 79 Chairman Mian Rasheed Ahmad addressed the ceremony and thanked the lawmakers for extending electricity to Zulfiqar Colony’s Street 10.
