BANNU: A bullet-riddled body was found within the jurisdiction of Kaki police station in Bannu on Sunday. Separately, two people were injured in a firing incident within the jurisdiction of Cantt police station in Bannu.

A police official told The Express Tribune, the remains were found in an open field in Narjeeb. “The deceased has been identified as Jehangir,” he said. “His body was shifted to the hospital for an autopsy.”



In another incident, two people were wounded when unidentified men opened fire on them within the jurisdiction of Cantt police station. Shahid told the police he was at his house with his mother Dilshad when unidentified men barged in and opened fire on them. As a result, both Dilshad and Shahid were injured. Further investigation is under way.

Apprehended

Separately, Bannu police arrested 17 suspects during a crackdown in various parts of the city. The search operation was launched by DPO Qasim Ali Khan along with other police personnel.

As per a police official, the crackdown was launched in Township, Basiya Khel Mandan, Ghoriwala, Miryan and Domel areas. At least 61 kilogrammes of hashish, six Kalashnikov, 14 pistols and three guns were also seized from the suspects.
