At least two people were killed when a house was ransacked by unidentified men in Dabak village, Lakki Marwat on Saturday. An official privy to the development told The Express Tribune Tehsil Khan was sleeping at his house at night when 25 men barged into the premises.
“They were clad in military uniform,” he said. “They barged into his house and killed his wife, sister and abducted two others.”
Tehsil councillor Mian Warsha told The Express Tribune locals followed the men and arrested one of them. Their car was impounded. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way. Separately, a child was injured after a toy bomb went off at a mosque in Mamikhel village, Sarai Naurang.
The toy bomb was planted inside the mosque and went off as soon as the child touched it. According to locals, the military operations in South Waziristan and North Waziristan have caused militants to enter the district. “This has increased cases of militancy in the region,” he added.
