It’s been almost 12 years since the first Motorola Razr was introduced and revolutionised the mobile phone industry.

When introduced in 2004, the original Razr was 13.9mm in thickness, an insane feat for that time. It became an instant hit primarily due to its sleek design. The popularity of the model can be judge from the fact that by the time the Razr was discontinued Motorola had sold 130 million units of this legendary model globally.

It seems now that Motorola Mobility, owned by Lenovo, is looking to bring back the magic of Moto Razr, according to its teaser video of a nostalgic walk through at a high school.

The video, which was posted on Motorola's YouTube channel, was accompanied by the caption saying, “Flip back to the Razr days of yesteryear and get ready for the future.”

The re-launch of new Moto Razr is expected to take place at Lenovo Tech World on June 9 this year as indicated by the title of the video “Moto 06.09.16”.

The original Razr had a 2.2-inche screen with a 176 x 220-pixel resolution and internal memory of 5.5MB. Unlike the high resolution cameras in today’s smartphones, the Moto Razr had a VGA camera.

The new Razr could prove to be a game changer for Motorola once again provided the company is able to tap in on the nostalgic feelings associated with Moto Razr. We hope it lives up to all the expectations.
