Unauthorised vendors

Illegal vendors on the pavements of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi pose a threat to human health, environment and traffic

KARACHI: I am a resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar in Karachi and I want to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the various illegal vendors selling sugar cane and other kinds of juices, fruit, fish, vegetables and burgers on pavements and roads. Their stalls and handcarts contribute towards traffic jams and are a great source of pollution in the central part of Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

In addition, the garbage that these stalls and other shops dispose can be seen everywhere. The stench of the garbage alone is a health hazard for the local community. The relevant authorities are requested to clear the area of these illegal businesses, which are a threat to human health, the environment and traffic. I also request the government to take immediate corrective measures.
