Disciplined Dolphins
Karachi Dolphins won by one wicket defeating Rawalpindi after sending them in to bat where they made 260 for five. Naved Malik scored an unbeaten 101 and Jamal Anwar supported him with 65. However, an overall disciplined performance from Adnan Baig (63), Faraz Ahmed (35) and Misbah Khan (37*) saw Karachi reach the total with one wicket remaining.
PIA’s ticket to victory
PIA batsmen guided their team to a nine-wicket victory against Islamabad who posted a target of 250. However, PIA bowlers Aizaz Bin Ilyas, Najaf Shah and Tahir Khan, each taking a brace, left little margin of error. The batsmen followed suit, reaching the target with the loss of just two wickets courtesy Shaharyar Ghani’s 105*.
Faisalabad’s deserving win
The Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad saw the hosts clinching a much-deserved eight-wicket victory after the bowlers tore through the Sialkot line-up, restricting them to a paltry 207. Naseer Akram took four crucial wickets and Zaheer Maqsood stood at three for 40. Faisalabad batsmen reached the total with the loss of just two wickets.
ZTBL’s nightmare
ZTBL witnessed a humiliating 166-run defeat at the hands of Multan who left a mammoth 325-run target after being sent in to bat. Zain Abbas smashed 96 and Imranullah 61 to leave ZTBL in a nightmare after they were all out for a meagre 159.
Struggling Wapda
Wapda struggled against NBP after conceding a six-wicket defeat. None of the Wapda batsmen stayed for too long and NBP reached the 216-run target with the loss of just four wickets with Fawad Alam scoring the highest unbeaten 78.
