KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs' anti-smuggling organisation (ASO) apprehended a truck driver carrying 200 kilograms of hashish in his vehicle during a raid on Monday on the RCD Highway.

According to Customs spokesperson Syed Irfan Ali Shah, the ASO squad stopped a truck at their Mochko check post on the RCD Highway, which was travelling from Quetta.

During the search, the Customs authorities recovered 200kg of hashish from hidden compartments in the truck. Shah explained that the ASO team conducted the raid on information that a truck carrying contraband coming from Quetta would pass the Mochko check post.

He told The Express Tribune that the seized contraband has a market value of more than Rs10 million and that further investigations are under way.
