PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should constitute a free and impartial commission to investigate his family’s offshore holdings.

This was said by Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq. He was speaking at a seminar in the city on Monday.

According to Siraj, merely attending assembly sessions and delivering speeches will not help solve the issue.

“Accountability was the only way out,” he added. “I strongly urge the nation to unite to take the corrupt elements to task. If we do not take a stand, corrupt leadership will make us slaves as East India Company did centuries back.”

Siraj added, “A mass movement is the need of the hour. It will ensure accountability.”

He urged the people to join JI if they wanted a corruption-free Pakistan.

The JI chief added government officials have looted public money and accumulated it in foreign accounts. “Meanwhile, people lack basic health and education facilities,” he added.
