The outfit was a customised gown by British haute couture house Ralph and Russo teamed with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and Chopard accessories, reported IANS. The actor was styled by her sister and designer Rhea Kapoor for all her Cannes red carpet looks. This is the sixth year of Sonam attending Cannes as the L’Oréal Paris ambassador, however, this is the first time in these six years that the actor will be part of the prestigious amfAR gala, organised to raise funds for AIDS research, to be held on May 19.
Kapoor may have been criticized for a few of her previous Cannes outfit choices, but she seemed to have nailed the looks this year. With hair and makeup by Stefan, and Soni Namrata respectively, she sashayed with air of confidence taking the swarm of photographers by storm. Kapoor’s latest Bollywood film, a biopic on the life and brave sacrifice of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot, titled Neerja, will be screened at Cannes.
Another look that garnered appreciative nods from onlookers and critics was Kapoor’s black and blue sari made of molten wires by designed Rimzim Dadu that she wore for a press meet. From a vision in white, to a beauty in black, Kapoor proved that she is indeed a showstopper.
