LAHORE: Lahore General Hospital administration has started installation of a grid station at its premises to meet the increased demand of electricity at the facilities in view of the establishment of the Punjab Institute of Nuero Sciences and construction of new blocks at the hospital. This was stated by Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) principal Khalid Mahmood on Sunday.

He said the project would cost Rs104.3 million. The grid station would be functional by December. He said the LGH would be the first public hospital in the country equipped with the facility.

“The chief minister’s efforts and cooperation of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) have made this possible,” he said.

Mahmood said that once the grid station was functional the power supplied to the hospital would increase from 4,500 kilo watts to 10,500 kilo watts.
