KARACHI:
Larkana Press Club (LPC) president was wounded early on Saturday morning when he was shot while resisting a robbery at his brother’s residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, within the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station.

According to the police, four armed men entered the house by cutting off the grilles at around 4:30am. However, Babu Iqbal and his brother Shakil Zaidi put up resistance, said DSP Nasir Lodhi. "The robbers first beat them up and then one of them opened fire."

The robbers shot Iqbal in his shoulder and then flee the scene along with the looted cash and other valuables including jewellery.

Chief minister Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Police IG also took notice of the incident and directed the police officials to arrest the culprits. The journalists' community also held a protest at Karachi Press Club and demanded the arrest of the culprits.
