Arms seized: Two shot, injured in Bannu

The arms were confiscated during a search operation in Bakakhel and its surrounding areas

BANNU:  

At least two people were shot and injured in Mundan village, Bannu on Saturday following a minor dispute.

A police official told The Express Tribune Muhammad Nawaz and Khurshid were on their way to their house when their opponents opened fire on them in Jangi Khan. The accused managed to flee the site after committing the crime.

“An FIR has been registered against them,” he said. “We are investigating the matter.” Separately, security forces and Frontier Constabulary (FC) seized a large cache of weapons.

According to a press release issued on Saturday, the arms were confiscated during a search operation in Bakakhel and its surrounding areas.

“We have confiscated a large number of weapons from Narmi Khel and Bakakhel,” the statement quoted a security official as saying. “These include 29 AK-47 rifles, 57 magazines, 3,000 rounds of bullets and six prohibited guns,” As per the document, the operation was carried out after an intelligence tip-off was received from the village.
