Under the revamping plan, Rs8.7 million has been allocated for improving the Rawalpindi transmission system to end the low gas pressure, especially in winter.
“The low pressure is mainly the result of gas shortage, particularly during the winter season and due to obsolete supply lines,” an official in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources.
“It is also due to the growing number of housing colonies and societies with the passage of time in the city,” he added.
“SNGPL is undertaking system augmentation, looping of line, re-drilling of service tee and constitution of emergency teams to address complaints of low pressure. Our operational teams are working round the clock.”
