ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the state on an application of the Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s deputy director, seeking constitution of a medical board to examine him.

A division bench comprising Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah issued notice to the respondents on the application seeking a medical board for next week.

The CDA official, Iftikhar Ali Haideri, has once again approached the IHC for bail-after arrest and constitution of a medical board.

His counsel, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, said that the petitioner was suffering from multiple diseases and was behind the bars since his arrest in November last year.

He said that the doctors had advised him, on the basis of material available on record that the petitioner could not be treated in jail, and specialised treatment was needed.

The counsel said that the petitioner had to undergo surgery to remove stones from his gall bladder under general anaesthesia.

He has prayed for a bail and the constitution of a medical board to examine him.

The NAB officials along with others had caught Haideri red-handed, while he was allegedly receiving Rs4 million bribes from the owner of Safa Mall, Rana Abdul Qayyum.
