Saaf pani: PSPC’s work without precedent, says chairman

Solar water filtration plant inaugurated in village

The Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC) has installed 80 water filtration plants in south Punjab to ensure the provision of clean drinking water to the people, PSPC Chairman Kashif Padhiar said on Thursday.

Padhiar made the remarks after inaugurating a solar reverse osmosis water filtration plant in Puggal.

He said ensuring the provision of clean drinking water to the marginalised resident in remote areas of the Punjab was the government’s priority.

This, Padhiar said, would ensure that they led healthier lives and reduce personal expenditure on health.

The PSPC chairman said filtration plants had been installed across Lodhran, Hasilpur, Dunyapur, Khanpur and Minchanabad. He said the availability of clean drinking water would help curb the incidence of waterborne diseases and put together a healthier society. “The Punjab is a hot choice for national and international investors courtesy the many opportunities it has to offer,” the PSPC chairman said.

He said the Saaf Pani project was destined to establish a precedent for others to emulate. “We continue to derive strength from the support and goodwill of people resident across the province. We consistently aim to serve them better. We aspire to ensure that they realise their dreams and enjoy everything life has to offer,” Padhiar said.

The PSPC chairman said no stone was being left unturned to ensure the timely completion and transparent execution of projects. This, he said, was being done without compromising on quality standards.

“We practice the philosophy of providing state-of-the-art solutions to challenges confronting the disadvantaged. We try to complement it with a level of service that is without precedent,” Padhiar said.
